Happy New Year to you!
I hope that by the time you read this, you will be stepping into 2020 and all that it brings. Yet January always seems to be a strange month to me to be embracing new things. We are in the throes of winter and it seems odd to think ahead, when the days are still so short. Often all we want to do is hole up with a boxset and reach for the mince pies and whatever fare remains.
Whilst the natural world is still sleeping though, the Churches Together team have been working hard on new things. We are putting on a “Start” course, beginning in January.
This is a six-week exploration of God, faith and ourselves, based over six consecutive Monday evenings. Each week we’ll have an opportunity to listen, discuss and have some input via video clips. The course is for anyone who would like to revisit the basics of their faith, or for anyone who is interested in ‘starting’ off looking at Christianity.
Our first event will be a ‘taster’ evening on Monday 13th January, from 7.00 - 8.30 pm at The Verity Rooms, East Keswick Village Hall. Anyone is welcome to come and see what we’re doing, with no obligation to stay for the duration of the six weeks.
Whether you’re a believer, backslider, doubter or ponderer about the meaning of life, all are welcome. You can find more details on how to sign up on the Events page, on the Start flyer, or in the Village News magazine.
Why not give it a go? It’s a great way to start the New Year.
Every blessing
Angela
